NXT NAMES ALEXANDRA BENEDICT GIRLS’ EVENTS DIRECTOR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA (May 9, 2023) – NXT is thrilled to announce that Alexandra Benedict has been hired as its new Girls’ Lacrosse Events Director. A well-respected Division I women’s college lacrosse coach for more than a decade, Benedict will be responsible for leading NXT’s extensive annual portfolio of 21 girls’ lacrosse tournaments and showcases.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Alex to our team at NXT,” said Kate Henwood, Executive VP of Girls’ Lacrosse at NXT. “I have always enjoyed my interactions with Alex as a college coach. She has magnetic energy and is a rising star in the industry. I am proud that someone with her experience and acumen is joining our team.”

Prior to joining the NXT family, Benedict served as a Division I women’s lacrosse coach for 11 years. She spent the last 10 seasons at UMBC, where she was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2021. During her time at the school, she was also recruiting coordinator, defensive and draw specialist coordinator as well as academic and compliance coordinator.

“I am so excited to be a part of the NXT family,” said Benedict. “As a college coach, I have attended and worked NXT events and showcases for years. I have always been impressed with the quality of each and every event they run. I am grateful for the opportunity and to NXT for believing that I am the right fit for their incredible team.”

Benedict enjoyed a distinguished career as a college and high school player. As a student-athlete at Vanderbilt University (2007-2010), Benedict (then Mundy) earned All-America honors 2x times and served as captain her senior year. A Maryland native, she starred for Glenelg High School from 2003-06 and was named a U.S. Lacrosse and Under Armour All-American as a senior.

“Alex will quickly become an invaluable asset to our girls’ events division as we work to ensure exceptional experiences at NXT events for years to come,” said Henwood. “Great hires like this one speak volumes about our people and what we do at NXT.”

Benedict will begin in her new role on May 22 and can be reached via email at alex.benedict@nxtsports.com.
