Girls Box Lacrosse

Why Box Lacrosse?

A Different Game. A Better Way to Develop.

A smaller surface, smaller goals and a 30-second shot clock create a faster, more physical game built around more touches, quicker decisions and playing under pressure.

More reps. More confidence. A more complete player.

Why the 99ers?

The Phila Box 99ers are part of a program helping lead the growth of girls box lacrosse. NXT runs some of the region’s most established girls box events, giving our program experience in the indoor game that few others can match.

We don’t just put girls in a box league. We teach them how to play box.

Players build stronger stick skills, sharper decision-making, better off-ball movement and the confidence to play through pressure, all of which translates directly to the field.

GIRLS TEAMS TRYOUT INFORMATION

We Train More.

Our program is built around training, not just game experience. Players learn the skills and strategy of the indoor game before being asked to execute them in competition.

Our mantra: We train more.

What Does Box Actually Do for My Game?

Box makes you better everywhere.

Playing box can help girls:

  • Develop stronger stick skills in traffic
  • Make quicker decisions under pressure
  • Become more comfortable in tight spaces
  • Improve passing, catching and ball protection
  • Develop better off-ball movement and spacing
  • Learn to play through pressure and contact
  • Build confidence that carries over to the field

You don’t have to choose between box and field. The 99ers are here to show girls why playing both can make you a better lacrosse player.
